Our students' learning is enhanced through participation in school excursions and events.
Parent / carer permission is required for all excursions and some events via the SMS Parent Permission System.
When planning excursions and events, our staff ensure:
- The activity complements students' academic programs
- Students not participating in the excursion are supervised and provided with an alternative program at school
- Specific processes are in place if students are being transported in private vehicles
- Careful selection and briefing for all parents / volunteers participating in the excursion
- All school excursions careful selection and events are approved by our principal
Our school regularly reviews and updates our excursion / events procedures using Education Queensland's Curriculum Activity Risk Assessment.
*Only students with suitable behaviour, effort and attendance can attend camps, excursions and represent the school at extra-curricular activities such as competitions and sporting carnivals.
