Resource Centre

Resource Centre (also known as the Library)

The new Malanda Primary School Resource Centre was opened in February 2012. As well as housing our collection for junior fiction, senior fiction, non-fiction and teacher reference material, we have a bank of computers, two teaching rooms and a room allocated as a video and recording annex.

The centre aims to:

    • provide a well-resourced, inviting, flexible and inclusive environment which links leisure and learning.

    • effectively foster the development of student information literacy skills, empowering students to become life-ling learners

    • promote a love of literature within students

    • support teachers’ professional and curriculum needs through planning professional development, collections development and management of relevant print and digital resources

Students are encouraged to borrow books for home reading, personal enjoyment and research. The centre is open before school (8:30 – 8:45am); lunchtime (1:15 – 1:45pm); and after school (3:00 – 3:15pm).
