Enrolling a student at Malanda State School

Enrolments will not be approved without enrolling staff sighting and copying your child’s birth certificate. An alternative to birth certificate will be considered where it is not possible to obtain a birth certificate (e.g. child born in country without birth registration system. Passport or visa documents will suffice.) This does not include failure to register a birth or reluctance to order a birth certificate.

To determine if your child is eligible to enrol in prep please check the Education Queensland's Prep ready reckoner.

To enrol your child at Malanda State School follow these easy steps:

Step 1 enrolment application

Complete the student Booklet Enrolment Forms for each child and returned to the front office. This may be downloaded or collected from the school office.

Step 2 enrolment interview

Attend an enrolment interview with a member of our Administration team. Please ring the school office to organise a suitable time.

Don’t forget to bring:

  • Your child so that we may meet them.
  • Each child’s original birth certificate.
  • Each child's immunisation records.
  • Each child’s latest report card if they have attended another school.
  • Each child’s current passport and visa documents if born overseas.

Step 3  important information

Read our Parent Handbook 2020 to learn more about our school policies and procedures to learn more about our school policies and procedures.

If you cannot download the document's linked from this page, please contact us and we will provide a copy via the school office. And as always, if you  have any questions please feel free to call us or pop in.

Enrolling a Prep student

The bulk of Prep enrolments are done in the year prior to school starting. This allows time for our staff to ensure your child's transition to school is smooth and productive.

Parent/Carers are to use the same enrolment forms as all other students (see above). For more information about your child starting Prep, please refer to our Prep Handbook 2020. How to enrol your child is listed below.
